Young Women’s Christian Association of Rwanda (YWCA Rwanda) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization and a volunteer membership organization established in 1995 that works at the grass roots level in 13 districts of Rwanda. YWCA Rwanda would like to recruit three qualified Field Officers for a joint project “Youth Employability in the Informal Sector (YEIS)”.
General Goals for the Position

The primary function of the Field Officers for “Youth Employability in the Informal Sector (YEIS)” project will be the on-site implementation of this Project. The Field Officers will be responsible for guaranteeing that all activities of the project are implemented in accordance with the timeframe and make sure that the results and outputs are realized. The position of Field Officers will be based in Rubavu, Nyabihu and Ngororero Districts.

Field Officers’ Responsibilities
• The Field Officers will be called upon to represent YWCA in meetings with local authorities and stakeholders taking part in the project.
• The Field Officers will be the primary point of contact for the project regarding the progress information that might affect the project’s development or goals.
• The Field Officers are responsible for on-the-ground preparations of both logistical aspects and content preparation in collaboration with Field Supervisor.
• The Field Officers will compile monthly and quarterly reports and submit the reports to the Field Supervisor.
• The Field Officers will participate in missions, planning meetings, evaluations or monitoring activities. English will be the working language of the Project.

• Field Officers will work under the direct supervision of Field Supervisor.

• They will be responsible in implementing the project activities within the constraints of the budget allocated for expenses in collaboration with Field Supervisor.
• The Field Officers will submit weekly reports together with weekly plans and submit the plans and reports to Project Coordinator and Field Supervisor.
• As required, represent YWCA in periodic meetings regarding the project developments/updates.
• Maintain regular contacts and communication with the Field Supervisor and partners.
• The Field Officers will assist in planning and preparation of materials for each activity.
• They will work closely with stakeholders taking part in the project implementation.
• The field officers will support any monitoring and evaluation activities that YWCA will perform, providing all quantitative information and assessments available as required or requested.
• They will also fulfill any other task that might be assigned by the superiors.
Coordination and Support
The Field Officers will work in collaboration with project manager. For all financial and administrative matters such as the regularity, forms and procedures for financial reporting, the Field Officers will work in collaboration with YWCA Financial Department.

Qualification and requirements
-Bachelor’s degree in project management, development studies, cooperatives management, business studies and rural development.
– Excellent command of English language
– Excellent writing and speaking skills
– Be innovative and self-starter.

– Excellent reporting skills,

– Motorcycle driving licence,

– Experience of 2 years with community based projects,

– Experience of 3 years working with non government organizations will be an added  advantage.
