In more than five years in Rwanda, we have grown to serve 100,000 farm families with more than 1,000 full-time field staff. We are Rwanda’s fastest growing professional organization. To help manage this growth, we are looking for an “English and Computer Trainer’’ to work from a District Office.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Trainers will support Tubura University (TU), an internal training and learning center designed to improve the skills and capacity of the entire Tubura team. As one of TU’s principle trainers, the English & Computer trainer will play a key role in developing the capacity of Tubura employees. Initially, the main responsibility of the trainer is to teach employees to be able to speak, write, read and understand English as well as learn basic computer skills. The trainer’s duties will range from the preparation of course work, planning of classes, teaching courses, and tracking student progress.
• Organizing and delivering formal and informal classroom lessons to students.
• Preparing classroom and coursework materials, homework assignments, and handouts.
• Evaluating students’ class work and assignments.
• Recording and maintaining accurate record of student’s attendance, performance and progress.
• Managing classroom by maintaining discipline and creating a vibrant teaching atmosphere.
• Creating activities that connect with multiple intelligences and learning styles
• Delivering excellent participatory courses that increase student skill levels and professional capacity.

Requirements

• Energetic and enthusiastic. and dynamic in group settings
• Academic background in pedagogy or significant work experience in training and teaching.
• Experience training adults
• Background in graphic design and curriculum development would be an additional benefit but not necessary.
• Commitment to living in a rural area for an extended period of time.
• Intermediate to advanced computer skills: intermediate typing, intermediate Microsoft Word skills, intermediate excel skills.
• Top performing academic background with a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Planning and organizational skills.
• Hard working, patient, and flexible.
