ARC is a US based non-profit relief organization rebuilding self-reliant communities around the world using innovative approaches, hybrid business models and the power of social-entrepreneurship. ARC provides services to the refugee population living in Rwanda.

Following the influx of refugees to Rwanda from neighboring Burundi, UNHCR, MIDMAR and its partners are currently working to provide the basic needs (Shelter, Health, food, Water…) to Burundians refugees. ARC as a proud partner of MIDMAR and UNHCR is looking for the suitable candidates to fulfill the following positions for Mahama Refugee Camp in Kirehe District.

NB : Please note that this position is open to Rwandan nationals only.

1. Position : Nutrition Coordinator (1)

Responsible to : Site Manager

Location : Mahama Refugee Camp

Duties and Responsibilities :

Should be able to program and coordinate all the activities of the nutrition centre,
Should be able to develop therapeutic and supplementary feeding protocols that will be used in the rehabilitation phases of managing malnutrition,
Should be able to develop growth-monitoring charts to use in follow up of the admitted children under intensive rehabilitation programs,
Should be able to share knowledge with nutritional assistants and social assistants on how to identify malnourished children, pregnant and lactating women at risk of developing malnutrition,
Should be able to create teamwork in his/her nutrition centre staff and other health centre staffs,
Should be able to give monthly, quarterly and annual reports and requisitions of the department,
Should develop educative feeding protocols (charts) to be followed by the beneficiaries,
Should work hand in hand with the trauma counselor Coordinator in educative sessions for the parents of malnourished children,
Should be in position to present and elaborate the activities of the nutrition centre to the supervisor, donors or in the meetings and conferences with other partners when asked to do so by his/her employer or supervisor,
Should be able to have annual plan of activities of nutrition centre according to the needs of the department

Qualifications :

Minimum bachelor’s degree in Food Sciences, Human Nutrition and related fields,
Strong oral and written skills,
Computer Skills,
5 years of experience in Nutrition Related Services,
Two years experience with Development or Relief Organisation, Fluent in English and French or Swahili as a second language, Ability to live and work in isolated areas in Rwanda

2. Position : Community Service Coordinator (1)

Responsible to : Site Manager

Location : Mahama Refugee Camp

Duties and Responsibilities :

Responsible for reception and orientation to new refugees arriving in the Camp,
Locating refugees in their temporally shelters,
Conduct required assessment to determine needs in community and then report to Site Manager,
Conduct assessment to determine people with specific needs,
Responsible of Counseling and orientation of refugees to appropriate partners,
Keep the confidentiality for all refugee cases,
Develop a plan to conduct the community service activities,
Conduct community services project as planned,
Monitor the activities taking place and make adjustments as needed,
Mobilize refugees to participate in Community activities,
Develop leadership in members as a part of the project…

Qualifications :

Minimum bachelor’s degree in Social sciences, Rural development or equivalent,
Strong communication skills,
Computer Skills,
5 years of experience in the domain,
Two years experience with Development or Relief Organisation,
Fluent in English and French or Swahili as a second language,
Ability to live and work in isolated areas in Rwanda.

3. Position : Community Service Officers (2)

Responsible to : Community Service Coordinator

Location : Mahama Refugee Camp

Duties and Responsibilities :

Assist Community Services coordinator in his/ her tasks as mentioned above.

Qualifications :

Minimum bachelor’s degree in Social sciences, Rural development or equivalent,
Strong communication skills,
Computer Skills,
2 years of experience in the domain,
Two years experience with Development or Relief Organisation,
Fluent in English and French or Swahili as a second language,
Ability to live and work in isolated areas in Rwanda.
