KIGALI city on top of HIV positive.
As it was put out by the researchers in the RBC (Rwanda Bio-h Center) which is in charge of health research and fight against the HIV/AIDS spread within the country, it has showed that Rwanda has 3% of the HIV/AIDS patients who are in the age of 15 and 49 years old. And Kigali town is the leading town of the other towns in the country with HIV/AIDS patients.
The research shows starting from 2005-2010 the range of people with HIV/AIDS was at 3.6%i but beginning with the start of 2011 the HIV/ AIDS has reduced at the range of 0.6%.
As it was showed out by the RBC that the groups that acquire and spread the HIV/AIDS are mostly the sex workers (Prostitutes), drivers, youth, Homosexuals and the fishermen. And some of these groups shifts from one place to another are from Kigali town.
Anita Ahayo who is in charge of preventing and avoiding the spread of HIV/AIDS in the RBC said that the most town with HIV/AIDS patients is Kigali town which has the range of 7.3% while Western Province has the range of 2.7% of the HIV/AIDS patients, the Northern province has the range of 2.5% of the HIV/AIDS patients, the Southern province has the range of 2.4% of the HIV/AIDS patients and the Eastern province has the least range of the 2.1% of the HIV/AIDS patients in the country according to the research carried out by RBC.
Anita said that the reason to why Kigali town is the leading of HIV/AIDS, it’s because of the group of the sex workers ( prostitutes) that easily acquire and spread quickly the HIV/AIDS, and they have the range of 51% in this town compared to other towns.
Anita continued saying that though, the HIV/AIDS patients are still many but recently the number has reduced as years passed, for instance, in 2004 health centers that offered the patients with the medicine of reducing the strength of this virus were 31 health centers and the patients would range at 8355. But in 2012, the health centers has increased to the range of 430 that offer the medicine to the patients and the patients range also increased at number of 114.995.
Although, the patients that takes this medicine ranges at the Rwanda, are still asked to take care of themselves and others in order to avoid the spread of the HIV/AIDS to others.
Ingabire Eugenie the head of ICAP said that, the fishermen are among the people who spread the HIV/AIDS because of their shifitings which lead them to marry other women and finally spread the HIV/AIDS.
And the youth are also among the HIV/AIDS spread in the country because they are found of making many friends and do sex without using condoms.
The prisoners also are among the people who are the leading factor of the spread of HIV/AIDS because they do sexual with their fellow prisoners (Homosexuality) and finally acquire and spread the HIV/AIDS between them , Anita Ahayo said that this sex spreads the HIV quicker than sex done with people of different sex. But still they have to continue teaching them how to prevent and avoid the spread of HIV themselves.
This research was put out by the RBC which is in charge of health together ABASIRWA which is in charge of fighting against HIV/AIDS spread in Rwanda.
