Technical officer (VMMC providers) at Jhpiego, Kigali, Rwanda – DEADLINE: 12/05/2014

Jhpiego, a nonprofit Health Organization, affiliated to the Johns Hopkins University, is recruiting technical staff to support implementation of its Voluntary Medical Circumcision (VMMC) program in Rwanda. This will be a one year consultancy contract service and candidate should be ready within one month after selection to commence the service.

Summary Scope of Work

The VMMC Technical Officer will assist in implementation, management, monitoring and evaluation of MC activities at the site level. This includes performing VMMC services in the routine base; development of work plans, coordinating closely with Technical Advisor and reporting. The VMMC technical officer reports directly to the VMMC Technical Advisor.

Specific Responsibilities:
Provide client education in VMMC and HIV;

Provide VMMC services according to standards Conduct client follow-up visits;

Participate in Quality Assurance activities;

Communicate regularly with Jhpiego/Rwanda Office in Kigali;

Produce monthly or any other VMMC related reports;

Perform any other assignments as may be required by the supervisor.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Should have at least an A2 Certificate in nursing

Should have at least 2 years’ experience in male circumcision or surgery Training on Male Circumcision provision will be an asset;

Ability to maintain personal dignity and dignifying others

Demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills

Ability to read/write Kinyarwanda, English or French

Ability to work under minimum supervision

Computer literacy
Special Requirements:
Ability to work effectively with a diverse community

Willing to work anywhere in the country
