Do you have what it takes to change the face of Rwandan broadcasting for the better?

Rwanda Broadcasting Agency (RBA) has been promulgated by the Law N°42/2013 of 16/06/2013.

It establishes a new national broadcasting origination, focused on delivering a level of excellence and service in the broadcasting industry.

The new RBA staff will need to show aptitude to manage complex and fast moving operations.

They will have proven ability in their specific area of expertise, already displaying the ability to deliver productions to a high quality, on time and within budget.

All applications should be addressed to the Director General of RBA. Applications must be delivered by hand to: RBA Headquarters, Kigali City.

Job positions

1) Sports Presenter/Reporter:

Number of Positions: (01)

Key Responsibilities

Perform live sports programs basing on the guidelines of his/her superior;

Prepare audio that match with those programs; Prepare texts that assist him/her in those programs;

Generating and researching ideas for programs to hand over them to his/her superiors for collective final approval;

Avail in every day meeting his/her future program subjects and their sources of information;

Developing content, writing material for scripts, bulletins and links; Selecting music appropriate to the program, the audience and the station;

Undertaking editing, interviewing and reporting duties as necessary; Presenting programs for both pre-recorded and recorded output; Checking that copyrights are cleared and understanding media law;

Contributing and making use of an archive of audio resources which can he re-used; Responding to audience feedback through traditional and modern channels;

Producing and making use of user-generated content;

Using technology, such adobe auditions etc, for editing and production purposes.

Minimum Qualifications: Degree in any field with 2yrs exp. in related field, or Diploma in Journalism &

Communication with 4yrs working exp. The ideal candidate should have a Technical skills in sports presenting, computer literacy, analytical and communication skills.

2) Head of Graphics

Number of Position: (01)

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate all graphics activities;

Plan and develop a monthly schedule for graphics;

Plan, conceive, organize and create the logos, adverts, transitions, promos;

Put out and update a weekly program for graphic,

Managing all designing work, researching and advising on a range of design,

Design content for newsletters,

Supporting TV team to improve the overall design skill levels,

Design content for social RBA channels,

Develop concepts, graphics, and layouts for product illustration, logos and interim website;

Reviewing final layouts and suggesting improvement if required.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree in any field with 3 yrs exp. in Graphics Designing or Diploma in Graphics

designing, motion graphics and 3 D animation with 3yrs exp. in related field /Web field, Proficiency in Adobe

Photoshop, Illustrator, In Design, Strong knowledge in Dreamweaver, Flash, After Effects, etc.

3) Engineer Radio Rwanda Inteko & Rusizi Community Radio

Number of Position: (02)

Key Responsibilities:

Perform the preventive maintenance for studio, master control equipment and other related equipment in use;

Test, inspect, repair and supervise the installation of studio, ENG equipment;

Manipulate the test and measurement studio instruments;

Prepare the annual needed spares;

Run the daily radio program operations;

Fill in the operation forms after finishing the work assigned;

Weekly Report to the Head of Technical Services/radio;

Manipulate the radio studio and Public address system equipment;

Prepare and present the equipment status report to the Head of Technical Services/radio;

Attend regular meetings organized by the Head of Technical Services/radio.

Minimum Qualifications: Degree in Electronics and Telecommunications, Computer Science.

4) Site Operators Nyarupfubire

Number of Positions: (01)

Key Responsibilities

Manipulate the transmitters and other installed equipment in use at the transmission site

Operate the remote management system software for diagnostics of transmitters

Prepare and submit the equipment status report to the Head of Transmission operators

Fill in the operation forms after finishing the work assigned

Cleanness of the machine rooms, house and Maintain the good looking of the garden on the transmitter sites

Attend regular meetings organized by the Head of Transmission operators

 

Minimum Qualifications: Diploma in electronics, Computer science, electrical engineering or any other related field.

5) Camera Operators

Number of Positions 🙁 06)

Key Responsibilities

Filming for Programs, for news and Production;

Assembling, preparing and setting up equipment prior to filming, advice on how best to shoot a scene, Finding

solutions to technical or other practical problems,

Prepare to innovate and experiment with ideas;

Working quickly, especially as timing is such an important factor;

Taking sole responsibility in the difficult situations where only one camera operator is involved in the filming;

Keeping up to date with filming methods and equipment; repairing and maintaining equipment;

Driving crew, actors and equipment to and from locations;
Ensure the camera and other equipment they use is well used and kept.

Minimum Qualifications: Certificate in electronics & telecom. Filming, photography or any other related field with 3yrs exp in filming

6) Programs Producer MAGIC FM (Female Candidate only)
Number of Positions: (02)

Key Responsibilities
Perform live talk show programs basing on the guidelines of his/her superior; Prepare that match with that talk show; Prepare texts that assist him/her in that talk show:

Searching for guiding themes in talk shows and to hand over them to his superiors for collective final approval; Prepare subjects for talk shows and make extensive research on them;

At least have a program that is aired on weekly basis; I land over an accomplished program within a range of 48 hours before being aired; Streamline the talk show to meet target audience’s expectations

Avail in every weekly production meeting his/her future program subjects and their sources of information.

Minimum Qualifications: Degree in any field with 2yrs exp. in related field or Diploma in Journalism & Communication with 4yrs working exp.
